This 830-room hotel is two blocks from the Reno Arch and four blocks from the National Bowling Stadium; Reno-Tahoe International Airport is six miles away.

This hotel is currently renovating its casino until April 5, 2007 (completion date subject to change).

• Tony Roma's - Chain restaurant featuring steaks, seafood, ribs. Open for dinner only.
• The Original Mel's Diner - 1950s-style diner with black-and-white décor, period photographs, and jukebox. Open 24 hours for breakfast, burgers, chicken sandwiches, ice-cream confections.
• The Buffet at The Sands - All-you-can-eat, cooked-to-order New York steak dinner buffet Wednesday-Sunday. Open for dinner only.
• Arby's - Sandwiches and chicken. Open for lunch and dinner.
• Cabana Café - Coffee drinks, pastries, sandwiches, pizza, desserts. Open from early morning to late night.

One king bed, two queen beds, or two double beds. 400 square feet. Two-chair dining set. TV with pay movies and premium cable channels. Small vanity counter with stool in bedroom. Floor-to-ceiling windows providing mountain or city views. Bathroom with combined shower/tub.

In addition to casino gaming, the hotel offers bingo, a comedy club, and cabaret entertainment. Outside on the street level, a lighted and gated area contains a 60-by-30-foot unheated, seasonal pool; six-person spa tub; sand volleyball court; seasonal bar; and a stage for live entertainment, three nights a week during the summer.
