ALLEGIANT AIR ANNOUNCES NEW, NONSTOP AIR SERVICE BETWEEN SANTA BARBARA AND LAS VEGAS: (SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) —Santa Barbara, Calif. residents will soon have a chance to try their luck in fabulous Las Vegas as low-cost airline, Allegiant Air, today announces new, nonstop jet service to Las Vegas from Santa Barbara beginning May 22. As the only nonstop service on full-sized jets to Las Vegas, Allegiant is celebrating by offering fares as low as $39* one-way to the "Capital City of Entertainment." "We are pleased to bring the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Santa Barbara community," Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. "This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only full-size jet service between Santa Barbara and Las Vegas." The new flights will operate three weekly between Santa Barbara Airport and McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas), with service Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Beginning May 22, flights will depart Santa Barbara at 8 p.m. arriving in Las Vegas at 9:15 p.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 6:10 p.m. arriving in Santa Barbara at 7:20 p.m. (all flight times are local). "Santa Barbara Airport is very pleased to have new nonstop jet service to Las Vegas provided by Allegiant Air," said Airport Director Karen Ramsdell. "Allegiant Air is a new low cost carrier at SBA and we are looking forward to a long relationship. Las Vegas is the destination for which we receive the most inquiries from the community." The carrier will utilize a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route. The airline said its market research and input from local community leaders indicate the Santa Barbara community will welcome the new all-jet flights and low fares to Las Vegas. Through its Allegiant Vacations program, the company also offers complete air and hotel vacation packages to the city that never sleeps for as low as $114* per person for two-nights, roundtrip (based on double-occupancy, stay at the Vegas Club Hotel & Casino with a Tuesday or Sunday departure only).
