(Pasco, Wash. Feb. 2, 2005) — No such thing as a sure bet? Odds are that low-fare, nonstop jet service to Las Vegas, Nev. will win big in the Tri-Cities, Wash. with Allegiant Air, LLC. The Las Vegas-based, low-fare airline today announced that the company will inaugurate nonstop scheduled service from the Tri-Cities Airport to McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas) beginning April 7, 2005. To kick off the new service, Allegiant is offering introductory fares as low as $39* one-way on flights from the Tri-Cities to Las Vegas. “We are extremely pleased to extend the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the people of the Tri-Cities and surrounding communities,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only scheduled nonstop service between the Tri-Cities and Las Vegas.” The new service will operate twice weekly, with service Thursday and Sunday. The carrier will utilize a full-size 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route. The airline said that its market research and input from local community leaders indicate that the Tri-Cities area will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Las Vegas as an alternative to connecting flights or long drives to other airports. “We are pleased to have Allegiant Air announce new service for the Tri-Cities region. It is the first true low cost air service for our area, and is a fifth non-stop destination for our passengers,” stated Jim Morasch, Director of the Tri-Cities Airport Allegiant also offers complete air and hotel vacation packages to Las Vegas starting at $196* per person for four-nights, round-trip (based on double-occupancy and Sunday through Thursday travel), through its Allegiant Vacations program.
