VIVA LAS VEGAS! ALLEGIANT AIR ANNOUNCES NEW, NONSTOP AIR SERVICE BETWEEN SOUTH BEND, IND. AND LAS VEGAS: AIRLINE CELEBRATES WITH INTRODUCTORY $79* FARE

(South Bend, Ind.) — No such thing as a sure bet? Odds are that low-fare, nonstop jet service to Las Vegas, Nev. will win big in South Bend, Ind. with Allegiant Air, LLC. The Las Vegas-based, low-cost airline today announced that the company will inaugurate nonstop scheduled service from South Bend Regional Airport to McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas) beginning Aug. 5, 2005. To kick off the new service, Allegiant is offering introductory fares as low as $79* one-way when booked at www.allegiantair.com.

“We are extremely pleased to extend the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Michiana community,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only scheduled nonstop service between South Bend and Las Vegas.”

The new flights will operate twice weekly, with service Monday and Friday. Beginning Aug. 5, flights will depart South Bend at 1:40 p.m. arriving in Las Vegas at 3:40 p.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 7:20 a.m. arriving in South Bend at 1 p.m. (all flight times are local).

“Nonstop air service to Las Vegas, and the potential for similar service to Orlando, meet two of the top three needs of the area’s traveling public,” John Schalliol, South Bend Regional Airport director, said. “Because we have the facilities at the airport, and because we have a strong, but underserved, market we are indeed fortunate to be able to attract Allegiant Airlines to the Michiana area. Their level of service, their people and aircraft, and their fares will ensure success in our community. We are thrilled to have them as members of our team at South Bend Regional. The carrier will utilize a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route. The airline said that its market research and input from local community leaders indicate that the Michiana area will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Las Vegas as an alternative to connecting flights or long drives to other airports.
