ORLANDO A GO-GO! (Belleville, Ill.)— First Vegas, now Orlando. Allegiant Air, LLC today announces new, nonstop jet service to the fun and sun of Orlando, Fla. from MidAmerica St. Louis Airport beginning Feb. 1, 2006. The same airline that recently brought St. Louis and Southern Illinois low-fare, nonstop service to Las Vegas, will now offer low-cost, nonstop service to Orlando, with introductory fares as low as $59* each way, when booked at www.allegiantair.com. The self-proclaimed “Official Airline for Sunshine” will launch the new scheduled service from MidAmerica St. Louis Airport to Orlando Sanford International Airport with complete vacation packages including roundtrip air and three-night hotel stay for as low as $202**. (Three-night hotel stay at the Rodeway Inn-Maingate, price is per person, based on double occupancy, reflects a Wednesday departure and Saturday return by March 31, 2006 and may not be available on every flight.) The new flights will operate twice weekly, with service Wednesday and Saturday. Flights will depart MidAmerica at 6:05 p.m. arriving in Orlando at 9:20 p.m. Flights leaving Orlando will depart at 4:10 p.m. arriving in MidAmerica at 5:30 p.m. (all flight times are local.) Allegiant will utilize 130-seat, MD-80 series, jet-aircraft on the route. “We’re really excited to partner with Allegiant Air for service to Orlando,” St. Clair County Board Chairman Mark Kern said. “All of Southern Illinois knows Allegiant’s great service, and we’re ready to load up for sunshine in Florida!” "Allegiant Air’s service expansion to Orlando from MidAmerica St. Louis Airport is a great move based on our known market there,” Tim Cantwell, Airport Director for MidAmerica said. “Our community members will love flying Allegiant to the Florida sunshine.” The airline launched service from MidAmerica to Las Vegas April 29. Reservations may be made through the company’s website at www.allegiantair.com, the airline’s Reservations Center at 800-432-3810 or professional travel agents. The Allegiant Vacations division of the company will offer low-cost packages with 18 of Orlando’s most exciting hotel properties and three in Daytona Beach. Partner properties include The Swan, The Dolphin, The Hilton in Lake Buena Vista and the Radisson Parkway. Low-cost packages are available to include hotel, car and amusement park tickets for additional savings. Allegiant’s $59* one-way introductory fare is limited, not available on all flights and must be purchased by Nov. 5, 2005, for travel through March 31, 2006. Fares are not available on the following blackout dates: Dec. 22-31; Jan. 1-4 and Feb. 15-20, 2006. After the introductory fare period, regular fares on the route will range from $89 to $209 each way.
