VIVA LAS VEGAS! ALLEGIANT
AIR ANNOUNCES NEW, NONSTOP AIR SERVICE (Palm Springs, Calif.) — What happens in Vegas, may stay in Vegas, but it will soon start in Palm Springs, Calif. as Allegiant Air, LLC, today announces new and nonstop jet-service to Las Vegas beginning Dec. 9, 2005. To kick off the new service, the Las Vegas-based, low-fare airline is offering limited introductory fares as low as $29* one-way, when booked at www.allegiantair.com. “We are extremely pleased to extend the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Palm Springs community,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only nonstop, full-size jet service between Palm Springs and Las Vegas.” The new flights will operate twice weekly between Palm Springs International Airport and McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas), with service Friday and Sunday. Beginning Dec. 9, flights will depart Palm Springs at 5 p.m. arriving in Las Vegas at 5:50 p.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 3:30 p.m. arriving in Palm Springs at 4:20 p.m. (all flight times are local). "We are extremely pleased to have a new partner in Allegiant Air providing jet service to Las Vegas," said Richard S. Walsh, A.A.E, Director of Aviation at Palm Springs International Airport. "This community has been without jet service to Las Vegas for nearly a decade, and we believe it will have a positive impact on tourism in both destinations." The carrier will utilize a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route. The airline said that its market research and input from local community leaders indicate that the Palm Springs area will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Las Vegas as an alternative to long and congested drives to and from the destination. Allegiant also offers complete air and hotel vacation packages to Las Vegas for as low as $178 per person for five nights hotel and round-trip air (based on double-occupancy, stay at the Plaza Hotel & Casino and Sunday departure and Friday return), through its Allegiant Vacations program. Allegiant Vacations offers low-cost packages with 30 of Las Vegas’ most exciting hotel properties, including the Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Caesars, Monte Carlo, Mirage, Golden Nugget, Excalibur, Tropicana, Bally’s, Flamingo, Four Queens, Riviera, Frontier, Luxor, Circus Circus, Imperial Palace, Hotel San Remo, Gold Coast, Boardwalk, Westin Casuarina, Aladdin, Stardust, Orleans and Plaza.
