(Rockford, Ill.) Allegiant Air, LLC, announces the expansion of its popular low-cost, nonstop service to the Tampa Bay area from Rockford, Ill. Due to popular demand, the airline will add seasonal Saturday flights beginning Feb. 16, 2007 through April 18, 2007.

"We are very pleased with the performance of our new service to Tampa Bay from Rockford," said Maurice J. Gallagher, the airline's president and CEO. "The addition of a Saturday flight will make it easier for customers in the Chicagoland community get to the fun and sun of the Tampa Bay area. We are confident this new schedule will have great appeal."

The four-day-a-week schedule will depart Chicago Rockford International Airport at 10:35 a.m. arriving at St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport at 2:10 p.m. Flights leaving Tampa Bay will depart at 8:25 a.m. arriving in Rockford at 10 a.m. (all flight times are local).

Allegiant Air inaugurated service from Chicago Rockford International Airport to the Tampa Bay area Nov. 16. The low-cost airline inaugurated the first flight to Las Vegas Nov. 3, 2005 and the first flight to Orlando Dec. 15, 2005.

The Allegiant Vacations division of the company will allow customers to double their sunshine fun with complete vacation packages at some of the area's premier resorts, including Alden Beach Resort, Belleview Biltmore, Don CeSar, Hilton Clearwater Beach, Innisbrook Beach Resort, Marriott Suites on Sand Key and Sheraton Sand Key. Low-cost packages are available to include not only air and hotel, but car rentals for additional savings.
