(Peoria, Ill.) -- Allegiant Air announces the seasonal expansion of its popular low-cost, nonstop service to the Tampa Bay area from Peoria, Ill. Due to popular demand, the airline will add seasonal Monday flight Feb. 19, 2007 through April 16, 2007.

"We are very pleased with the performance of our new service to Tampa Bay from Peoria," said Maurice J. Gallagher, the airline's president and CEO. "The addition of a Monday flight will make it even easier for customers in the Peoria community get to the fun and sun of the Tampa Bay area. We are confident this new schedule will have great appeal."

The three-day-a-week schedule will depart Greater Peoria Regional Airport at 10 a.m. arriving at St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport at 1:30 p.m. Flights leaving Tampa Bay will depart at 7:40 a.m. arriving in Peoria at 9:15 a.m. (all flight times are local).

Allegiant Air inaugurated service from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport to the Tampa Bay area Dec. 13. The low-cost airline inaugurated the first flight to Las Vegas March 3, 2004.

The Allegiant Vacations division of the company will allow customers to double their sunshine fun with complete vacation packages at some of the area's premier resorts, including Alden Beach Resort, Belleview Biltmore, Don CeSar, Hilton Clearwater Beach, Innisbrook Beach Resort, Marriott Suites on Sand Key and Sheraton Sand Key. Low-cost packages are available to include not only air and hotel, but car rentals for additional savings.
