(Shreveport, La.) -- Allegiant Air today announces it will offer Shreveport, La. residents a more convenient schedule with nonstop flights to both Las Vegas and Orlando Thursday and Sunday beginning March 1.

"We are pleased to offer the Shreveport-Bossier community a more convenient travel schedule," said Maurice J. Gallagher, the airline's president and CEO. "The change in flight days will help more customers get away on vacation to the fun and excitement of Las Vegas and Orlando. We are confident the new schedules will have great appeal."

Beginning March 1, Allegiant Air will operate two-flights-a-week to both destinations with service Thursday and Sunday. Las Vegas flights depart Shreveport Regional Airport at 8:30 p.m. arriving in Las Vegas at 9:40 p.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas depart at 2:40 p.m. arriving in Shreveport at 7:50 p.m. Orlando flights depart Shreveport Regional Airport at 11:50 a.m. arriving in Orlando at 3 p.m. Flights leaving Orlando depart at 10:05 a.m. arriving in Shreveport at 11:15 a.m. (all flight times are local.) Allegiant currently offers flights to Las Vegas and Orlando Wednesday and Saturday.

Allegiant began nonstop service from Shreveport Regional Airport to Las Vegas Jan. 18, 2006 and nonstop service to Orlando Nov. 15, 2006.
