(Fort Wayne, Ind.) - What happens in Vegas, may stay in Vegas, but it will soon start in Fort Wayne, Ind. as Allegiant Air today announces new nonstop jet-service to Las Vegas, Nev. beginning March 2. To kick off the new service, the Las Vegas-based, low-fare airline is offering limited introductory fares as low as $99* one-way.

"We are extremely pleased to expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service in the Fort Wayne community," Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. "This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only scheduled service between Fort Wayne and Las Vegas."

The new flights will operate two days a week between the Fort Wayne International Airport and McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas). Beginning March 2, flights will depart Fort Wayne Monday and Friday at 7:55 a.m. arriving in Las Vegas at 8:55 a.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart Thursday and Sunday at 11:40 p.m. arriving in Fort Wayne at 6:15 a.m. (all flight times are local). Allegiant will begin service to Orlando-Sanford and the Tampa Bay area Feb. 15.

"Allegiant Air is exactly the service that this community has been requesting, offering low-fare flights to Fort Wayne's top three leisure travel destinations."

The carrier will utilize a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route. The airline said its market research and input from local community leaders indicate that the Fort Wayne-Allen County region will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Las Vegas as an alternative to connecting flights or long drives to other airports.

Allegiant's $99* one-way introductory fare is limited, must be purchased by Jan. 27 and is valid for travel through June 10, 2007. Introductory fares are not available on all flights. After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares on the route start as low as $109 one-way.

*All fares one-way and are non-refundable. Fares do not include PFC, segment tax or September 11 security fee of up to $10.40 per segment. Travel purchased through Allegiant Air call centers will cost an additional $5.00 per segment. A segment is defined as one take-off and one landing.
