VIVA LAS VEGAS! ALLEGIANT AIR ANNOUNCES SIXTH ILLINOIS MARKET WITH NEW, NONSTOP AIR SERVICE BETWEEN MARION AND LAS VEGAS: AIRLINE CELEBRATES WITH INTRODUCTORY $79* FARE

(Marion, Ill.) — What happens in Vegas, may stay in Vegas, but it will soon start in Marion, Ill. as Allegiant Air today announces new nonstop jet-service to Las Vegas, Nev. beginning Feb. 1, 2008. To kick off the new service, the Las Vegas-based, low-fare airline is offering limited introductory fares as low as $79* one-way.

“We are extremely pleased to expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service within the Southern Illinois communities,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only full-size jet service between Marion and Las Vegas.”

The addition of Marion service will be Allegiant Air’s sixth market in the state of Illinois. No other air carrier currently provides schedule service to more cities in the state than Allegiant. The carrier will utilize a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route. The airline said its market research and input from local community leaders indicate the Southern Illinois communities will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Las Vegas as an alternative to connecting flights or long drives to other airports. The new flights will operate twice weekly between Williamson County Regional Airport (Marion) and McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas), with service Monday and Friday. Beginning Feb. 1, flights will depart Marion at 1:25 p.m. arriving in Las Vegas at 2:55 p.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 7:25 a.m. arriving in Marion at 12:45 p.m. (all flight times are local).

"This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate the potential that exists for air service in our region,” Doug Kimmel, Airport Manager for Williamson County Regional Airport, said. “In that regard, we are committed to working with Allegiant Air to make their operation here a success."

Through its Allegiant Vacations program, the company also offers complete air and hotel vacation packages to Las Vegas for as low as $262* per person for four nights, roundtrip (based on double-occupancy, stay at the Plaza Hotel & Casino and a Monday departure/Friday return.) Allegiant Vacations offers low-cost packages with more than 40 of Las Vegas’ most exciting hotel properties, including Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Caesars, Palms, Monte Carlo, Mirage, Excalibur, New York New York, Red Rock, Tropicana, Rio All-Suite, Bally’s, Las Vegas Club, Flamingo, Riviera, Luxor, Terrible’s, Circus Circus, Hooter’s, Imperial Palace, Harrah’s, Treasure Island, Gold Coast, Westin Casuarina, Golden Nugget, Planet Hollywood, South Point, Four Queens, Plaza and Orleans.
