BASIC FUNCTION:
Director of Accounting Operations will have primary responsibility for timely and accurate general ledger compilation and account reconciliation such that the general ledgers, and therefore the financial statements, are reported in accordance with GAAP. This position will also assist with general accounting process and reporting issues.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
- Supervise the accountants and accounting administrators
- Serve as the primary interface with External Auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an appropriate internal control environment and maintenance of the related SOX documentation
- Implement training and review procedures to ensure compliance with internal control policies on a consistent basis
- Support and advise the Director of Financial Reporting of ongoing activities to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance initiatives.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging GAAP standards, participating in educational opportunities, and reviewing professional publications.
- Proven outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.
- Highly organized with proven multi-tasking ability required.
- Assist with additional projects as assigned by the VP & Principal Accounting Officer or CFO.
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986

SUPERVISES: To be determined
INTERACTIONS: External Auditors; Allegiant Air Employees
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor degree required, CPA preferred
Experience: Minimum of 5 years related experience, including public accounting & supervisory experience
Knowledge: Strong computers skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
