BASIC FUNCTION:
Manage Allegiant’s and AFH’s fuel purchasing and sales programs to assure they are reliable, cost effective and, with respect to AFH, profitable. Negotiate and manage the company’s contractual relationships with suppliers and customers. Leverage AFH to reduce fuel acquisition costs in all of Allegiant’s geographic markets. Identify opportunities for further investment and, where possible, expand the company’s presence in the aviation fuel market to 1) reduce supply costs and/or enhance profitability and 2) optimize the utilization of AFH’s current fuel supply infrastructure. Supervise the activities company’s fuel consultants. Institute policies, procedures and controls that ensure reliable supply, limit inventory risk and assure the collection of sales. Develop accounting / operating software and procedures to facilitate work flow. In concert, with the CEO, CFO and Vice President, Fleet Planning and Fuel Supply, develop a set of market assumptions that permits the development of a comprehensive and cohesive fuel strategy for the company.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
• Assure fuel is provided to Allegiant wherever needed by the company, reliably and economically
• Work with the Director, Airports to manage the annual tender process to select fuel vendors
• Make fuel available, through our joint venture, SFB Fueling, to that company’s customers
• Manage the company’s fuel purchasing and sales process and monitor inventory levels
• Optimize utilization of the company’s fuel infrastructure, including its rolling stock
• Map the primary processes associated with the company’s fuel supply activities and institute the appropriate controls
• Integrate and optimize development stage accounting and operations software
• Refine fuel accounting procedures and the respective companies’ charts of accounts.
• Provide senior management analysis of both historical performance and projected future performance of each entity
• Manage the company’s relationships with its fuel vendors, customers and consultants
• Participate in the establishment of a trucking operation for SFB Fueling
• Explore other opportunities available to the company in the fuel supply arena
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986

SUPERVISES: N/A
INTERACTIONS: Externally, the position requires frequent interaction with suppliers, customers and consultants. Internally, the position requires frequent interaction with other departments including, in particular, airports and accounting.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
Experience: Prefer minimum 2 years experience in a related activity
Knowledge: Strong intellect and analytical aptitude required, along with ability to manage multiple and varied activities. Good negotiation skills essential in order to appropriately advance the company’s agenda, as well as to successfully resolve commercial and/or technical disputes. Excellent oral and written communication skills and better than average people skills required to effectively manage large, multi-party, internal and external projects. Strong attention to detail required to manage all aspects of the position. Must embrace hard work and be comfortable with a fast paced, quickly changing work environment. Proficiency required in all MS Office products.
