SUMMARY:
Manager of Taxation will have primary responsibility for ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This position is also responsible to ensure the company’s tax obligations are properly reflected in the general ledger and financial reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary contact with outside tax compliance advisors to ensure all federal and local tax returns (corporate, excise, sales, fuel, payroll, property) are completed and filed timely.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly tax provisions and maintain related documentation (fixed assets, etc.) as well as FIN48 support
- Act as the primary interface re: tax provision issues with External Auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Develop and implement policies and procedures improvements to ensure tax reporting requirements are completed and filed in a timely and accurate manner
- Support and advise the Director of Financial Reporting of ongoing activities to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting
- Assists with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance initiatives
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging issues, participating in educational opportunities, and reviewing professional publications.
- Assist with additional projects as assigned by the VP and Principal Accounting Officer or CFO
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree required with minimum of 3 years related experience
- CPA with Big Four or large regional firm experience preferred
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
- Highly organized with proven multi-tasking ability required
- Team approach and positive attitude a must
