The Insider’s Guide: St. Pete

Roger, Allegiant Flight Attendant & St. Petersburg Insider

Known for its pleasant weather and stunning serene beaches along the Gulf Coast, the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area is popular with golfers, boaters, fishermen and beachgoers alike. Our resident insider provides a couple must-sees when in town.

St. Pete Beach

Named one of the top beaches in the U.S. in 2017 by TripAdvisor, it’s not hard to see why millions flock every year to its shores. Sugar white sand and the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico combine to make this beautiful stretch of beach a hit with locals and visitors alike.

Sunken Gardens

Located in the Historic Old Northeast neighborhood of St. Pete, the 100-year-old living museum is the place to unwind as you stroll along its lush garden and explore more than 50,000 tropical plants and flowers. The four-acre complex also includes a Japanese, cactus and butterfly garden, as well as a color flock of Chilean flamingos!

Mad Beach Craft Brewing Company

Located in the famous John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk on Madeira Beach, Mad Beach Craft Brewing Co. offers many specialty beers on tap with a Florida twist, like Life’s a Beach, described as an orange blossom honey wheat ale.
