New & Noteworthy in Las Vegas

By Heather Turk

While even the most frequent Las Vegas visitor will never run out of restaurants to visit, the city continues to grow its reputation as one of the country’s top dining destinations thanks to exciting new establishments opening on a regular basis. Whether you want to dine where all the celebrities go or you’re looking for a more relaxed ambience, there’s sure to be something new to the Las Vegas’ dining scene that fits the bill.

Beauty & Essex Inside the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Undoubtedly one of 2016’s best new restaurants, this celebrity favorite is a true hidden gem, as guests enter the restaurant through a pawn shop-looking storefront. Featuring a selection of sumptuous shared plates from chef Chris Santos (“Chopped”), nothing on the menu disappoints. From the bite-sized Grilled Cheese, Smoked Bacon & Tomato Soup Dumplings to the Short Rib ‘Mac & Cheese,’ every dish explodes with flavor. While palate-pleasing items like the Pressed Jerk-Spiced Chicken make it difficult to save any room for dessert, be sure to order the “les, nyc” Doughnuts with dark chocolate fudge, berry and caramel dipping sauces for the table—like everything else on the menu, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser! Visit Beauty & Essex for more info.

This next-generation gastropub features a menu of creative plates by James Beard Award-winning chef Shawn McClain that even the most discerning diner will relish. Putting a spin on traditional American bar fare, guests can indulge in a combination of small and large shared plates while sipping a selection of bottled, draft and barrel-aged cocktails. Succulent must-tries include the Whole Petaluma Chicken, where the thighs are served crispy and the breast comes roasted, and the Wagyu Skirt Steak served over a chimichurri drizzle. Boasting 365 rotating craft beers, 40 draft beers and a rare beer menu called the Unicorn List, this off-Strip beer haven elevates traditional pub grub with a menu of mouthwatering dishes that easily rivals what you’ll find at celebrity chef pubs—at a fraction of the price! Guests can start with the perfectly prepared Poutine made with tender pulled pork before savoring one of the flavorful flatbreads or burgers, like the Hangover burger topped with smoked bacon, caramelized onions and a fried egg. Whatever you decide on, don’t forget dessert—the warm Churro Waffle served with vanilla ice cream and rum-caramel sauce is truly divine! Visit Pub 365 for more info.
