Discover Savannah’s Charm

By Misty Wells
Savannah, the oldest city in Georgia, is the picture of Southern hospitality and charm. You may want to pack your searsucker suit and flowing white cotton dress as you picnic in the park, stroll along the historic brick roads and sleep at some of the most romantic bed-and-breakfasts (B & B) in the United States. Savannah is brimming with so many historic B & B’s that choosing which one will be your most difficult decision!

This luxe B & B is set in two adjoining Regency-Italianate-style mansions built in 1868. Combined there are 17 plush antique-filled rooms featuring fireplaces, chandeliers, claw-foot tubs and four-poster beds. True to Southern hospitality, guests are treated to a gourmet breakfast, wine and hors d’oeuvres, and dessert and cordials. The AAA Four Diamond rated Gastonian was recently recognized by Condé Nast Traveler Magazine as one of the finest places to stay in the world and voted Savannah’s 2014 Best B & B by Savannah Magazine.
