D.C. Bars – Pick Your Pleasure

Sometimes vacations can be tiring, especially in Washington, D.C., so what better way to end your sightseeing-filled day than with a refreshing beverage? We did some research, sampled a few beverages (twist our arms) and came up with a great list of D.C. bars for whatever your palate desires.

Beer lovers go here: ChurchKey. Located in the epicenter of Logan Circle, ChurchKey is known as one of the best beer bars in the D.C. area. Designed to showcase the full spectrum of beer styles and flavors, ChurchKey has a collection of 555 hand-picked labels meticulously curated by their beer director. It is almost impossible for you to not find a beer you will enjoy here.

applesLooking for a crisp, refreshing cider? Head to Anxo Cidery & Pintxos! Focused on curating the largest selection of ciders and perry, Anxo Cidery & Pintxos was D.C.’s first licensed winery after prohibition. While Anxo is known for serving high-quality ciders (most of them made in-house), they also have a dining menu filled with mouth-watering Basque-inspired food.

Is whiskey your go-to drink? Well, we think Jack Rose Dining Saloon might have a whiskey you will enjoy. With more than 2,600 bottles of top-shelf whiskey on their wall, Jack Rose Dining Saloon has the largest whiskey collection in the Western Hemisphere. They also offer more than 20 draft beers, wines from around the world and some fantastic hand-crafted cocktails if someone in your party is not a fan of whiskey. If you aren’t sure which whiskey to order, talk with the bartender so they can learn your palate and make a recommendation that is sure to satisfy your taste buds.

Washington Monument Drink with a View

Now, if you aren’t exactly picky about your choice of beverage, but really want to have a breath-taking view with your drink, then we recommend visiting The Graham Georgetown Rooftop Lounge. Located in the heart of historic Georgetown, this chic rooftop lounge will have you pulling out your phone to take a photo of the amazing views sprinkled with historic landmarks and monuments. Order your favorite drink and sit back and watch the sun fade into the horizon.

Drink and Jam

Want to unwind with a drink and some great live music? Head to Madam’s Organ located in Adams Morgan – yes, the name of the bar is an anagram of the neighborhood it is located in. Madam’s Organ has four levels of fun, but only the first floor has live music. You can enjoy live music seven nights a week ranging from blues, rock, R & B, blue grass, world music and salsa. Check out their schedule here.
