    Can I bring my pet on-board?
    Allegiant Air accepts only cats and dogs in the cabin of the aircraft. The pet must be able to stand up and completely turn around inside the kennel. The kennel must be a FAA approved carrier, which must be able to fit underneath the seat. The dimensions for the pet carrier are 9” H x 16” W x 19” D. For health reasons, Allegiant allows only one pet per carrier and also requires a certificate from a veterinarian, dated within 30 days of the travel dates, stating the pet is in good health, is able to travel and is current on all vaccinations. Allegiant charges a $75.00 per segment fee for each pet. This fee must be paid at the time of booking the reservation. To book a reservation with a pet, please contact the Allegiant Reservations Center at 702-505-8888 option 1 and tell the agent you are booking with a pet. The $10.00 per segment Booking Fees will be waived.

    Can my child traveling alone bring a pet on-board?
    Yes.

    Traveling with Children

    What are the ages and restrictions for minors?
    Children who are between fourteen (14) days old and under the age of two (2) years old will not be charged if they are not occupying a seat and accompanied by a fare-paying passenger who is twelve (12) years of age or older. These children are considered and referred to as "Lap Children". Proof of age, such as a birth certificate, may be requested.

    What are the requirements for unaccompanied children?
    Children who are between five (5) years and eleven (11) years of age will be charged $75.00 for each non-stop, one-way confirmed reservation. The parent or responsible adult who brings the child to the airport will be required to stay at the departure gate until the plane is airborne. The parent or responsible adult must furnish, to the carrier, evidence in writing (duplicate of which must be in the Child’s possession) that the child will be met by another parent or verified responsible adult upon deplaning at his or her destination. The person meeting the child at his or her destination will be required to present positive identification and sign a release form designated by the carrier. Any infant fourteen (14) days or younger (unless attending physician approves such infant for travel in writing) must be accompanied by a passenger twelve (12) years of age or older.

    Can I book a reservation online for my child traveling alone?
    If the child traveling is between the ages of five (5) years old and eleven (11) years old, the reservation must be booked through Allegiant’s Reservations Center. There will be a $75.00 per segment "Unaccompanied Minor" (UM) fee. This child must be booked through Allegiant's Reservations Center. Please advise the Reservations Agent upon calling that you are booking a reservation for an Unaccompanied Minor, and the $10.00 per segment Booking Fee will be waived. Children between the age of twelve (12) years old and seventeen (17) years old can be booked online with no extra fees.

    What are the requirements for photo identification for children?
    The FAA requires all passengers over two (2) years of age to sit in their own seat. Allegiant recommends that children between fourteen (14) months and twenty-four (24) months of age carry a certified copy of their birth certificate with a raised seal to prove their age. TSA requires government-issued identification for all passengers over eighteen (18) years of age. If a passenger appears to be eighteen (18) years of age, it is recommended they bring photo identification. Photo identification must be issued by a state or national government (such as a driver license, state issued identification cards, or passport). Individuals without government-issued identification may be required to undergo additional security screening.

    Can I take a stroller and car seat in at the gate?
    Each fare-paying passenger is allowed to take a stroller or a car seat to the boarding area. The stroller or car seat can also be checked at the time of check-in. If the stroller or car seat is taken to the gate, it will be "Gate Checked". This means that it will be put stowed in the cargo hold of the aircraft and will be available upon reaching the aircraft's final destination. The stroller or car seat can then be picked up at gate side.

    What kind of car seat or child restraint device is acceptable?
    Convertible-type car seats designed for forward or backward installation in a forward-facing aircraft seat. Many of these carry the FMVSS.213 insignia and/or language indicating that they are "approved for use in motor vehicles and on aircraft." Any child restraint device manufactured between January 1, 1961 and February 25, 1985, must have the following label: "This child restraint device conforms to all applicable federal motor vehicle safety standards."  Any child restraint device manufactured since February 26, 1985, must have both of the following labels: "This child restraint device conforms to all applicable federal motor vehicle safety standards" and "This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft."

    What kind of harness-type devices are approved by the FAA?
    At this time, the FAA has approved only the AmSafe Aviation CARES, which is appropriate for children weighing between 22 and 44 pounds. The AmSafe Aviation CARES must have a label indicating "FAA Approved in Accordance with 14CFR 21.305(d), Approved for Aircraft Use Only."

    Peanut Dust/Other Allergies

    Does Allegiant Air make accommodations for passengers with peanut dust allergies?
    No. Allegiant Air does not maintain a peanut-free zone on any aircraft. Allegiant Air serves products that may have been manufactured in facilities that process peanuts or peanut-based products. Customers are also allowed to bring food onboard the aircraft and may bring products that are manufactured in facilities that process peanuts or peanut-based products. Allegiant Air cannot control what other customers bring on the plane and does not guarantee a peanut-free or allergen-free flight.

    Does Allegiant Air make accommodations for passengers with other allergies?
    No. Allegiant Air does not guarantee an allergen-free flight. For more information, please see: Does Allegiant Air make accommodations for passengers with peanut dust allergies?

    Customer of Size

    Is the Customer of Size policy unique to Allegiant Air?
    No. Other carriers have similar policies.

    What is the cost of the additional seat?
    If a customer purchases an additional seat upon initial booking, the second seat will be sold at the same low fare as the first seat. Pre-selected seat fees shall be waived to ensure the customer gets two seats side-by-side. A second seat may be purchased up to or on the date of travel at the lowest fare available, but all purchases are based on availability.

    How do I know if I am a customer of size?
    The armrest is the definitive gauge, as it serves as the boundary between seats. Customers who are unable to lower the armrest and/or compromise any portion of adjacent seat(s) should proactively book the number of seats needed during the initial booking. Allegiant Air seats measure 17.8” from inside of armrest to inside of armrest.

    Are there other reasons to purchase additional seating?
    Yes. Customers wishing to secure in an aircraft seat a musical item, a child restraint device for an infant, etc., must purchase an additional ticket. However, these customers have other “options” such as holding an infant under the age of two as a lap child or placing the instrument in an overhead stowage space or in the cargo hold.

    Won’t this be embarrassing to the large customer and the employee?
    It may be difficult to deliver and receive a sensitive message. We caution all our employees to use discretion and to alleviate confusion. We encourage our customers of size to proactively purchase additional seating, which notifies us of the unique need. Ultimately, it is the customer’s responsibility to communicate with us upon the initial booking their unique seating needs so we may best serve all customers onboard.

    I am a large person and use a seatbelt extension, but I fit in one seat. Do I have to purchase two seats?
    Our policy does not focus on weight, and the seatbelt extension is not the determining factor. We use the ability to lower the armrests as the gauge, as the armrests are truly the definitive boundary between each seat.

    Are all overweight persons subject to the policy?
    Many customers may choose to use a seatbelt extension but occupy only one seat. These customers would not be asked to purchase an additional seat. If, however, a customer cannot lower the armrest and is unable to comfortably and safely travel with it in the down position, he/she will be required to purchase an additional seat.

    I’m large but can be seated with the armrest down. Aren’t your employees wrong to question me?
    If a concern exists, we shouldn’t ignore it even if it’s difficult for both parties to discuss. Condoning an unsafe, cramped seating arrangement onboard our aircraft is far more inappropriate than simply questioning the customer’s fit in our seats.

    Why not make your seats wider or add a few wide seats on your aircraft?
    Our ongoing goal is to operate a low-fare, low cost airline, and the costs of reconfiguring our fleet would be staggering and would ultimately reflect in the form of higher fares for our customers. Purchasing two seats on Allegiant Air is significantly less expensive than purchasing one first class seat on another airline.

    If a flight is “open,” do I still need to purchase an additional seat?
    No, if on the day of travel we can accommodate you by having open seats we will do so at no charge. However, we have no way of knowing what the booking levels will be, if no seats are available to purchase you may be denied travel without any type of compensation.

    Why can’t a large customer sit with a family member who doesn’t mind being encroached upon, or a small child/person who doesn’t take a full seat?
    If you are traveling with a travel companion who doesn’t mind encroachment from the adjacent seatmate, we will allow your companion to occupy the seat adjacent to you, assuming it poses no safety concerns. We will not, however, ask other customers to give up their comfort or the full use of their seat to accommodate a customer of size.

    If a customer has broad shoulders, will he/she have to buy a second seat?
    Again, if a customer cannot lower the armrests, the additional seat purchase is necessary. Simply having broad shoulders would not necessarily prevent another customer from occupying adjoining seats. The upper body can be adjusted, but the portion of the body in the actual seating and armrest area doesn’t have this flexibility.

    Why isn’t this information on your tickets, referenced on the booking/reservations pages of your website, or questioned by your Reservations Employees?
    We estimate that the customer of size policy affects far less than half a percent of our customers, and ultimately, it is the responsibility of a customer with a unique and unusual need to communicate with us upfront so that we may best serve all customers onboard. We won’t know of an special need unless the customer informs us.

    Can I be pre-approved as needing only one seat?
    Because size can fluctuate, we are unable to give blanket or pre-approved authorization.

    How will you ensure no one takes the seat beside me if I’ve purchased a second seat?
    When a second seat is purchased during the initial booking process, two seats will be pre-assigned (at no additional charge) in order to ensure the customer of size has two seats side-by-side. If a second seat is purchased on the date of travel, the agent will be unable to sell the second seat unless they can ensure two seats are available side-by-side. In the event the flight is sold out and an extra seat is unavailable, the customer of size shall be denied travel in the interest of safety.

    I’m pregnant; will I have to purchase two seats?
    A woman who is pregnant will not necessarily need to occupy two seats if she can lower the armrest.

    Isn’t this policy discriminatory towards large customers?
    Allegiant Air does not condone discrimination in any form. We have employees and serve customers of all races, ethnicities, religions, shapes and sizes. Our mission and responsibility per our Contract of Carriage is to provide safe and comfortable air transportation for each and every customer.

The passenger is also given a local service number, or the Allegiant Air Baggage Service Office number, for any questions or concerns that may arise.

    Where can I find items left on a plane or in the terminal?
    Items found in the terminal or on the aircraft are turned into the local baggage service department. All lost articles are logged and held at the local baggage office until the passenger claims them, or makes arrangements to have them shipped at the owner's expense. All items found in the Lost & Found inventory are held for thirty (30) days. After that time, unclaimed items are forwarded to System Baggage Service for salvage. This is because Allegiant Air unfortunately cannot control when a passenger will book their flight. Allegiant also does not have advance knowledge of when specials will be offered. All units identified as Portable Oxygen Concentrators are acceptable as checked or carry-on baggage if the units fit the size limitations for under the seat or overhead stowage.

    Making Reservations:

    1. At the time the reservation is made, the customer must inform the Allegiant Air Reservations Agent of the intended use of the Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) and the model of the POC to be used.

    2. If booking through a travel agent or online, the customer should call 702-505-8888 option 2 after the reservation is made.

    2. Prior to boarding, the Allegiant Air Customer Service Agent will verify the POC model, physician’s letter, and number and packaging of batteries.

    3. Although pre-boarding is not required, Allegiant Air strongly suggests customers using POCs in the aircraft pre-board with the Pre-boarding Group.

    The following rules apply:

    1. The AirSep Lifestyle, AirSep Freestyle, Respironics Evergo, Inogen One, and Sequel Eclipse Portable Oxygen Concentrators may be used by a passenger onboard an Allegiant aircraft provided the portable oxygen concentrator does not interfere with the electrical, navigation or communication equipment on the aircraft on which the device is to be used.  The POC may only be used in its battery-operated mode. Allegiant Air does not have electrical outlets onboard for commercial product use.

    2. During movement of the aircraft on the surface, takeoff, and landing, the portable oxygen concentrator must:

    a. Be stowed under the seat in front of the user so that it does not block the aisle or the entry into the row (window seat only);

    b. If it is to be operated by the user, be used only at a seat location that does not restrict any passenger’s access to, or use of, any required emergency or regular exit, or the aisle(s) in the passenger compartment;

    c. Persons using a portable oxygen concentrator are not permitted to sit in an exit row or bulkhead; and

    e. When the “Fasten Seat Belt” sign is turned off, passengers operating their portable oxygen concentrator may continue to operate it while moving about the cabin.

    3. The user of the portable oxygen concentrator must comply with the following conditions to use the device onboard the aircraft:

    a. The user must be capable of hearing the unit’s alarms, seeing the alarm light indicators, and have the ability to take the appropriate action in response to the various caution and warning alarms and alarm light indicators, or be traveling with someone who is capable of performing those functions;

    b. The user must ensure the portable oxygen concentrator is free of oil, grease or other petroleum products, is in good condition, and free from damage or other signs of excessive wear or abuse;

    c. The user must inform Allegiant Air that he or she intends to use a portable oxygen concentrator onboard the aircraft. The user must have a written statement, signed by a licensed physician, in that person’s possession, and must allow Company personnel to review the contents of the physician’s statement which must:

    1) state whether the user of the device has the physical and cognitive ability to see, hear and understand the device’s aural and visual cautions and warnings and is able, without assistance, to take the appropriate action in response to those cautions and warnings;

    2) state whether or not oxygen use is medically necessary for all or a portion of the duration of the trip; and

    3) specify the maximum oxygen flow rate corresponding to the pressure in the cabin of the aircraft under normal operating conditions.

    d. Only lotions or salves that are oxygen approved may be used by persons using the portable oxygen concentrator device.

    e. The user must carry on the flight a sufficient number of batteries to power the device for the duration of the oxygen use specified in the physician’s statement, including a conservative estimate of any unanticipated delays;

    f. The user must ensure that all batteries carried onboard the aircraft in carry-on baggage are protected from short circuit and are packaged in a manner that protects them from physical damage; and

    g. When a battery-powered portable oxygen concentrator is carried onboard the aircraft as carry-on baggage and is not intended to be used during the flight, the battery must be removed and packaged separately unless the Concentrator contains at least two effective features to prevent accidental operation during transport.
