Visit Indianapolis

There’s always something fun going on at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Whether it’s the Indy 500 race itself, vintage racing, or other events, you’ll find pulse-pounding activities for the whole family. There’s also a museum and gift shop open every day for guests, as well as available tours that will take you onto the track!
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is the largest children’s museum in the world, spanning 482,950-square feet of interactive fun. This includes a huge sports complex outside of the building. When you visit, you’ll get to experience exhibits such as a collection of the history of American culture, prehistoric animals and dinosaurs, and a playscape that allows kids to experiment with the world around them.
Making its way through White River State Park is the Central Canal, a serene waterway followed by a boardwalk on each side. Bordering the canal is the Canal Walk, a 3-mile loop offering urban views along the waterfront. Pedal boats and gondolas are available for rent for enjoying the park from the water.
You’ll also find the Indianapolis Zoo inside White River State Park, spanning 64 acres of the scenic park. Home to 230 species of animals, this highly accredited zoo boasts an award-winning orangutan center, several different biomes, and various rides for guests.
The Indianapolis Cultural Trail is an 8-mile walking and biking trail that connects the city’s six Cultural Districts. Project for Public Spaces in New York City claims it was "the biggest and boldest step by any American city". As you explore the city via the trail, you’ll notice a plethora of public art that was commissioned as part of the trail’s construction. Tours are offered on Saturdays for those interested in the history of the trail and Indianapolis.
The Eiteljorg Museum showcases the history and cultures of Native Americans and the West. You’ll find unique collections of First Nation objects and art as well as a beautiful outdoor garden. Learn about Indiana’s past at the Indiana State Museum. Also located within the White River State Park, it houses three floors of galleries as well as an IMAX theater that shows both 2D and 3D films.
