The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has an approved list of items that can be packed in your checked luggage or brought on board in your carryon bag.

Hazardous materials are forbidden
Federal law (49 U.S.C. 175) forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your baggage or on your person. A violation can result in five years' imprisonment and penalties of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. 5124). Hazardous materials include aerosols, flammable solids or liquids, compressed gases, bio hazards, infectious substances, corrosives, explosives, lithium batteries, magnetic, oxidizing materials, poisons and household items, radioactive materials, and other dangerous goods. Examples: paints, lighter fluid, fireworks, tear gases, oxygen bottles, and radio-pharmaceuticals.
Passengers are advised to transport the following items on their person or in carry-on items and are not permitted in checked baggage. Electronic devices containing lithium-ion or lithium metal batteries such as laptops, cell phones, electronic cigarettes, tablets, hand-held games, cameras, watches, calculators, and spare lithium batteries. Medication and keys should also be kept with you. There are special exceptions for small quantities (up to 70 ounces total) of medicinal and toilet articles carried in your baggage. Traveling with a Portable Electronic Device (PED)?
Consumer portable electronic devices containing lithium-ion or lithium metal batteries such as Laptops, Cell/Smart Phones, Electronic Cigarettes, Tablets, Hand-held games, Camcorders, Watches, Calculators, Spare Lithium Batteries, etc. are not permitted in checked baggage. These devices must be transported in carry-on luggage or on your person.
Traveling with prescription drugs?
Please carry your medicine in the bag you bring onboard. Allegiant does not accept liability for the loss or delay of medicine in checked baggage.
Bringing an e-cig, vaping device, or other electronic smoking equipment?
Federal regulations prohibit the carriage of electronic smoking devices in checked baggage. Passengers may transport such devices on their person or in carry-on baggage; however, such devices may not be charged onboard the aircraft, nor may they be used.
Can we bring Electric Skateboards / Balance Gliders / Hoverboards?
Allegiant will not accept for transport electric skateboards, balance gliders, hoverboards, or self-balancing boards of any type which use lithium metal or lithium ion batteries in either checked or carry-on baggage. This is due to hazardous materials restrictions.
How do I transport spare lithium batteries?
Spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries must be carried in carry-on baggage only.
- Spare batteries must be protected from damage and short circuit (i.e., the terminals must not come in contact with other metal)
- Protection methods include: leaving the batteries in their retail packaging, covering battery terminals with electrical tape, using a battery case, using a battery sleeve/pocket in a camera bag, or putting them snugly in a plastic bag or protective pouch.
